According to hindustan times newspaper Prasar Bharati, very soon going to start it's DVB-T -2 technology in India. By using this facility consumer can get about 500-600 TV and radio channels without any satellite receiver.
Recently DD announced they are going to launch CA system in thier DTH Platform ( DD Direct Plus DTH). For DVB-T -2 Service very soon will be install new transmitters in all over country. By this service Mobile consumer can also watch these channels without any subscription. Although it is not confirmed that in DVB-T-2 service also included CAS system.
What is DVB-T Service ?
DVB-T is an abbreviation for "Digital Video Broadcasting — Terrestrial". Doordarshan National Channel already running by this service from long time. For receive signals you need a simple Antenna. In villages area 85% peoples using DVB-T technology already.
How to Signal Transmits :
In this technology signals data carrier by RF ( Radio Frequency) channel. VB-T offers three different modulation schemes (QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM).

ReplyDeleteForget about 600 channels, currently you can receive 5 DD channels and 3 FM in Delhi. I wish all DD channels are added to the list. Would even be better if all free channels are relayed for DVB-T, but that's a far call.
